What is Munchkin Music?
Munchkin Music is a place where your child can come and learn through play with music and movement. Our occupational therapist designed programs are suited for babies through to pre-school aged children.
We have fun with instruments, music, movement and sensory play. Whether your child is quiet and reserved or ready to dance to the beat of their own drum, there’s a place for them with us.
My mission with Munchkin Music & Movement; to give children an opportunity to celebrate freedom of movement, to enjoy music and express their unique personalities in an environment where they feel comfortable. I truly believe in the tried and tested benefits of sensory play and I know first - hand how critical active movement is for children.
While busy being a stay-at-home mum, I noticed there was a need for locally affordable, flexible and easily accessible music and sensory education sessions for young children.
My experience was that our son needed a space where he could learn and develop skills on his own terms and dance to the beat of his own drum. He was shy; quiet and reserved. I soon realised he thrived-through-play based learning activities and in environments where he could be social one-smile and one-interaction at a time.
As part of that mission; I want parents and carers to enjoy the experience also.
Some of my fondest; calmest memories have been where I was engaged in fun activities with our son.
Even if it’s only for one hour a week I hope you find your happy place at Munchkin Music & Movement. They are only little once so let’s mindfully enjoy them!

About me
I am Rebecca Smith and I’m a mum to one beautiful little four-year-old boy. I’ve spent several years living in the Sutherland Shire with my family and I love our local community.
I’m passionate about the wellbeing of children and there is nothing I love more than seeing smiling, happy little faces.
Previously I have enjoyed a successful career in media and communication working across the education and emergency services sectors. I also love music and have studied and taught music to young children over the years.
